Just as it is with ready to wear sizing, every designer’s sizing is different, so please check your child’s measurements on the size chart to make sure the size is right.

The design of this dress is such that the bottom of the bodice hits above the natural waist and the skirt hem hits 1 – 2 inches above the knee. If you would like it to be longer, you can add length to the bodice and lengthen the skirt as per the alterations instructions.

Suggested Fabrics
This pattern is designed for knit fabrics with a moderate amount of stretch (25%) or more in the crosswise direction. These include light to medium weight jersey or interlock.

• Co-ordinating thread as needed
• 6mm (1 /4″) clear elastic (according to the elastic length chart)
• 1 cm (3/8″) fusible hem tape (optional)

The yardage for this pattern is calculated based on 60″ wide fabric.

Notes: The overly specific fabric recommendations in the chart below are calculated with a small amount of ease for pattern placement, and 10% for fabric shrinkage. Remember to prewash and dry your fabrics to prevent shrinkage or colour run in your finished dress.
