welcome To The One Thimble Blog
I’m really enjoying checking out the fabulous ways people have infused their own style into their Firefly Dresses.
So far we’ve been visited by Tina from Damsels & Dragons (you can find that blog post HERE) and Steph from Owl&I (you can find that blog post HERE) and today we’re off on a blog visit to check out Kerry from Sutures & Sandpaper’s “Pimped”Firefly and her blog posts talking you through making those fabulous buttons from her first Firefly!
Here’s a brief rundown on the changes Kerry made to the Firefly pattern to make this sweet number!
For my “pimped” firefly I made the bodice as per the pattern and then changed the skirt from the gathered skirt in the pattern to a circle style skirt using the Boo! Skater Skirt as a starting point. I then hemmed it using the hidden bias method which gave a bit of structure to the hemline and helped it sit nicely when worn.

Kerry’s first Firefly (see <-) was as per the pattern, but not having the hot pink buttons she was searching for sent her off on an adventure to learn how make her own!
